In each of our five strategic areas, Potter's House Association's general objectives are simple:
- Offer humanitarian aid and assistance to those who cannot help themselves, especially children and the elderly.
- Develop Treasures to become confident, competent and self-sustaining.
- Provide resources to empower the Treasures to participate in the solution of their own personal, familial, communal and national issues.
To accomplish these objectives, we demonstrate that change begins within a person's spirit, mind, will and emotions—real transformation occurs from the inside out. As we model this transition, we follow this methodology:
- I do it – you learn
- I do it – you help
- You do it – I help
- You do it – I support
This 4-step process is self-perpetuating. Many of our staff members are previously unskilled community members. They have made the transition to step four and are beginning to model this methodology to others (step 1). It's a sustainable model that is having a real impact.
